When Elco Holdings decided two relocate two of its white goods production facilities from France to the Eastern Europe, Romania seemed to be the best choice from all points of view – emerging market, good manufacturing tradition and working force, and still a lot of cost advantages.
SvWP has been Elco’s consultant for its expansion on the Romanian market between 2004 and 2005, providing consulting services in 2 stages:

• investment planning phase (investment type advisory, market research, location search & analysis)
• investment phase (location identification, acquisition strategy, construction planning, suppliers’ identification, professional services: legal assistance, financial & tax advisory, top level management recruitment, personnel management & payroll, lobbying services, structured finance)

Due to major policy changes in the investment strategy of the holding in 2005, the investment in Romania has been stopped 1 year after the initial investment decision.
