Within the frame of preparing Romania for EU membership, one of the main goals of the Romanian Government is the restructuring and privatization of the energetic sector. Hunton Williams is the consultant selected by the Romanian government and USAID for proposing the restructuring and privatization strategy. SvWP is Hunton William’s local partner in this project.
The entire restructuring process includes 3 phases: Phase 1 - establishing the privatization strategy (already delivered to the Government), Phase 2 - preparing the companies for privatization according to the established strategy & selecting foreign strategic investors interested in privatization, and Phase 3 - implementing the strategy.
SvWP counseled HUNTON & WILLIAMS regarding the structuring the privatization “bundles” as per the proposed privatization strategy, offered financial analysis services with respect to the individual power generating companies, and provided investment analysis services relating to organizing the privatization “bundles”, as well as to the generating companies that haven’t been included in the “bundles” and will be privatized individually.
